Ms. Nancy Gregoire is a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of one. Nancy just recently started her business, Season By Season, selling her photo ornaments as well as her non-photo ornaments. Nancy use Pabric Soft as the center print-on pieces for her photo quilted ornaments. Through her artwork, we see the significance of Pabric's capacity in printing and sewing projects. |

For the last five years, since my cousin Cathy taught me how to make these quilted ball ornaments, I have absolutely loved making them. About a year ago I had an idea to replace the front-center four pieces of fabric (which form an 8-point star) with a photograph. Then the wheels really started turning and I decided it might also be nice to replace the back-center with names, dates, and/or clipart.
Since the process of assembling the ornament requires those first four pieces to be pliable enough to wrap around a styrofoam ball without any creasing, and have pins pushed through it, a photo on paper would not work. For about 8 months I worked to find the most cost-efficient, high-quality product to print on. I tried many different processes, including many types of fabric ironed onto freezer paper, sent through an ink jet printer, and then pulled apart. The photos always came out dull and kind of fuzzy. I discovered Pabric when I was searching the internet for “printable fabric”. I immediately placed an order and two days later I was printing my first photos on a sheet of the Pabric Soft. When the sheet came out of the printer I looked over and said “Wow, that's amazing! The colors are so bright and the photos are so crisp”. I can still remember my excitement, thinking “This is it! It's perfect! I've finally found it!”
